Receipt Reader

When you take picture(s) of your Receipts, they will start to be processed by ExpensePoint™ OCR Receipt Reader. Allowing the reader to read your Expense will help with auto populating the details in the Expense Report

ExpensePoint™ Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a technology that is used to convert different types of documents, such as Receipts or PDF files, captured by a digital camera, into editable and searchable data.

It takes about 2-10 minutes for the Receipt Reader to read the data from the receipt. The idea is that by the time you travel or commute from the restaurant or other to your destination, your receipt will be read.

You can take a picture of several Receipts, you do not need to pile them. The Receipt Reader will process them in the background.

Even if a Receipt is still being read you can go ahead and add it to an Expense Report

The Receipt Reader will read such details as:

  • Vendor
  • Date
  • Total
  • Taxes

You should be able to see these details on the Receipt Details screen.

Sometimes the Receipt Reader may not be able to read properly the Receipts. In such cases you could see a few types of messages:

  • Receipt reader Failed (e.g TOO DARK)
